Driver Vehicle Inspection Reporting
Driver Vehicle Inspection Reporting (DVIR) is mandated effective December 17, 2009 as defined in Sections 396.11-12, Part 390 of the final “Roadability” regulations issued under Docket No. FMCSA-2005-23315.

In support, IANA has developed Driver Vehicle Inspection Report processing capabilities. Our services include:
- DVIR PROCESSING — Upon receipt of specific gate and roadability information, IANA will create a DVIR and deliver it to the appropriate Intermodal Equipment Provider (IEP). Click here for more information.
- DVIR WEB SERVICES — A computer to computer interface that enables communication with IANA databases. This service provides the recipient with critical information components necessary to create a DVIR. Click here for more information.
IANA’s DVIR services link the Global Intermodal Equipment Registry, IANA’s Intermodal Driver Database (IDD) and Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreement (UIIA) database to provided efficient access to the data needed for DVIR reporting.
IANA DVIR Services – Terms and Fees
An executed IANA DVIR Processing or Web Service Agreement is required to gain access to the services. Likewise, IEP permission granting the user access to the GIER equipment data will be required. For any given calendar year, the IANA Board of Directors will determine the fee level.
Fees for IANA DVIR services will be assessed on a per transaction basis and billed quarterly in arrears. The transaction pricing is two tiered between IANA members and Non-IANA members. Fees will be determined by multiplying the total DVIR Processing or DVIR Web Service transactions by the fee schedule contained in the DVIR Processing and Web Service Agreements.
